Javier Rodríguez Pino_Born in Santiago de Chile in 1981, he holds a PhD in Fine Art from the Universitat Politècnica de València and is currently a Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the UMCE. His projects, in which he combines drawing, historical narrative and fiction, have been presented at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León MUSAC (León, Spain 2022), Galería La Gran (Madrid, Spain, 2020), Laznia Center for Contemporary Art (Gdansk, Poland 2020), MeetFactory (Prague, Rep. Checa 2019), Izolyatsia (Kiev, Ukraine 2018), SIART Bienal Internacional de La Paz (Bolivia 2016), Galería Metales Pesados Visual, Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, (Santiago, Chile 2017 and 2016), Centro Matadero (Madrid, Spain 2015), Flora Ars+Natura (Bogotá, Colombia 2014), among others. At the same crossroads, he has published the graphic novels Anticristo (2017) and Ruinas (2022) with the publishing house Metales Pesados. Some of his distinctions and funds obtained are: Cultura Resident (Valencia, Spain 2019), Fondart Nacional (Santiago, Chile 2021, 2017) Conicyt Grant for PhD abroad (Santiago, Chile 2016), among others. His works have been acquired by institutional and individual collections in different countries.
